US Exports to Mexico, State to State Flows

This form allows you to search the BTS Transborder Surface Freight Database for state to state flows of US exports to Mexico. To begin, select the commodity code, US state of origin, Mexican state of destination, mode of transportation and time period of your choice. A reference chart is provided for Mexican state and commodity codes.

Based on your input, the search will result in a table showing the value of US export trade between your choice of US state of origin and Mexican state of destination. All figures are based on declared trade value, and are in current US dollars. Transhipments are included in these figures through December 1996. Data beginning with January 1997 does not include transhipments. Also note that until May 1998, Baja California Norte was listed as a Mexican state due to an error in geographic identification. The actual Mexican state is Baja California. For the period April 1994 to May 1998, the total amount of trade for this state would be the sum of the Baja California Norte and Baja California categories. Beginning in June 1998 and subsequenty, the correct state is listed as Baja California. Users should expect that extensive searches (i.e., all modes, all commodities, all time periods) may take several minutes to complete.
