Train-miles per employee hour are used as a measure for labor productivity
in railroad transportation.
Total train miles includes yard-switching miles.

This indicator of rail productivity differs from that shown in the previous
page. The data sources are different, and this measure is based on train-miles
while that on the previous page is based on ton-miles.
