RETAIL SALES OF MOTOR VEHICLES
U.S. Car and Truck Sales (monthly data, not seasonally adjusted)
Car and truck sales can be seen as an indicator of future demands to be placed
on transportation infrastructure. Trends in sales for particular types of vehicles
may also have implications for safety, energy usage, air pollution, and other matters. For example, the sale of light trucks has grown to almost match the level of car sales in recent years.
