Transported Tonnage on U.S. Inland Waterways: Farm and Food Products (monthly data, not seasonally adjusted)

Petroleum and chemicals, coal and coal products, and farm and food products make up the vast majority of U.S. inland waterways trade tonnage. In May 2001, these commodities constituted nearly 78 percent of total inland waterway trade.

NOTE: The current value is compared to the value from the same period in the previous year to account for seasonality.
