Components of Transportation-Related Imports (quarterly data, seasonally

The largest item in U.S. transportation related imports has been automobile
vehicles, engines, and parts, which accounted for 60 percent of U.S. total
transportation-related imports. After a sharp increase during the period
from mid-1998 to the beginning of 2000, the growth of U.S. imports of
automobile vehicles decreased slightly in the last two years.
