About The Position

The Mathematical Statistician will have opportunities to guide national surveys, perform research on statistical methodology to enhance data quality and usability; direct innovations to improve efficiency and timeliness of data collection and production; and represent BTS in various settings. Applicants from all areas of statistics and data science are welcome. Individuals with experiences evaluating statistical programs, applying various statically methodologies to improve data collection and production, and having a strong research background are most desired.

Direct Hire authority applies to the Economist 0110 Series and Statistical 1530 Series.

BTS positions are telework eligible. BTS is located in the U.S. Department of Transportation Headquarters in Washington, DC.
