NOTES: Percentages may not add to 100 because of independent rounding. Flights are on time if they depart from or arrive at the gate less than 15 minutes after their scheduled departure or arrival times. Data cover nonstop scheduled service flights between points within the United States (including territories) operated by U.S. air carriers that have at least 1 percent of total domestic scheduled service passenger revenues. The airlines required to report in 2004 were: Alaska Airlines, America West Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle Airlines, ATA Airline (formerly doing business as American Trans Air), Atlantic Coast Airlines (became Independence Air in late 2004), Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Comair, Continental Airlines, Continental Express, Delta Airlines, ExpressJet Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Southwest Airlines, SkyWest Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways. JetBlue Airways and Hawaiian Airlines reported voluntarily.
