The Port Performance Freight Statistics Program provides nationally consistent performance measures on capacity and throughput for the Nation’s seaports.
- Imports by Country and U.S. Port - Provides the shipping weight (short tons) of imports from the top 10 countries for imports, 2018-2024. Data can be filtered by port, state, country of origin, and month and year.
- TEUs by Port - Provides the number of TEUs by traffic direction and full/empty status for the Top 10 U.S. Container Ports. Data can be filtered by month and port.
- Containerized Commodity Imports by Port and Coast
- Containerized Commodity Exports by Port and Coast
- Tonnage by Port - Data can be filtered by coast, port, commodity type, and traffic direction. Includes the top 150 U.S. ports.
- Port Profiles - Provides a dashboard with statistics for each port and includes a downloadable .pdf fact sheet for each port.

- USA Trade Online by the US Census Bureau. This source provides data for exports and imports by commodity type at the port and state level. Measures include vessel total export/import value ($US), containerized vessel total export/import value ($US), vessel total export/import SWT (kg), and containerized vessel total export/import SWT (kg). Shipment origin and destination country are also provided. Data is available from 2003 through one month ago and is updated monthly. Note, that port boundaries applied by this source may differ from other sources used within the BTS Port Performance and Freight Statistics Program.
- Freight Analysis Framework (FAF) by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics. The FAF database has estimates of US freight flows. Data are available for states and metropolitan areas. Flows include all modes of transportation and 42 commodity types.
- Waterborne Commerce Statistics Center (WCSC) of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). WCSC is responsible for capturing information on vessels, tonnage, commodity, origin, and destination from vessel operating companies. This data and information is intended to assist USACE’s navigation mission by providing statistics used to analyze the feasibility of new projects and to set priorities for new investments and for the operation, rehabilitation, and maintenance of existing projects.
