Incidents are defined in 49 CFR 171.15 and 171.16 (Form F 5800.1). Accident-related are the result of a vehicular crash or accident damage (e.g., a train derailment). 2021 and 2022 Highway and Rail data are revised.

1Water includes only packages (nonbulk) marine. Nonpackaged (bulk) marine hazardous material incidents are reported to the USCG and are not included.
