Air carriers with more than $20 million in annual revenue report hours flown and direct maintenance costs by type of aircraft to BTS on a quarterly basis. Maintenance costs can be affected by aircraft age, levels of use, and engine type; and reporting carriers may use different methods to allocate maintenance costs over different aircraft types. This table presents the minimum, maximum, and median cost per hour of flying for total direct maintenance as reported by air carriers for calendar year 2024 through the second quarter of FY 2025, except for the estimated costs of the Airbus A330-941 and A350-941 that are provided by the manufacturer.

The source data include statistical outliers that are removed from the table while the outliers are being checked with the airlines.
