Number 247 - Reporting Traffic for Operations to or from Canada

Thursday, August 8, 2024

Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Statistics, Office of Airline Information
Number247
Issue Date: August 11, 2000
Effective Date: Immediately

This directive is a reminder that operations to or from Canada should be reported in detail on the carrier's Schedule T-100 market and segment reports with the exception of military charter flights.

Military charter flights to or from Canada are reported on the supplemental T-1, T-2 and T-3 Schedules.

There has been some misunderstanding on the reporting of Canadian charter and Canadian all-cargo operations. We believe the confusion arises because U.S. scheduled air carriers report their Canadian operations in their Domestic Entity. Domestic charters and domestic all-cargo operations are not reported on the detailed market and segment reports, but rather on the supplemental T-1, T-2 and T-3 Schedules. While Canadian transborder operations are reported in the Domestic Entity, these Canadian operations are not domestic operations, but rather international operations that happen to be reported in the Domestic Entity.

Effective immediately, we will reject Schedule T-100 reports that omit detailed market and segment information for a carrier's Canadian charter and all-cargo operations.

If you have any questions in this matter, please contact Mr. Bernie Stankus at (202) 366-4387.
