TRANSIT FATALITIES
TRANSIT FATALITIES
Transit fatalities (annual data)
Transit includes transit bus, light and heavy transit rail, commuter rail, paratransit, and other transit categories. Transit fatalities are transit-caused deaths confirmed within 30 days of a transit incident.
Transit fatalities are lower when suicides are removed because more than half of the people killed in rail-transit service each year are suicides. The fatality numbers cited here do not include suicides.
