BTS’ National Transportation Statistics Updated

Friday April 20, 2018- The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) today updated National Transportation Statistics (NTS) – a web-only reference guide to national-level transportation data. NTS, updated quarterly, includes a wide range of national transportation information. NTS consists of more than 260 tables of national data of which 56 were updated today.

This quarter’s updates are Transportation System (Social/Economic Characteristics of the U.S.; System Mileage; Number of Air Carriers, Railroads, Interstate Motor Carriers, Marine Vessel and Pipeline Operators; Number of U.S. Aircraft, Vehicles and Vessels; U.S. Air Carrier and General Aviation Fleet by Aircraft Type; Gasoline Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Sales; Roadways Condition; Commercial Space Launches; U.S. Passenger-Miles; Top U.S. Foreign Trade Freight Gateways; Passengers Denied Boarding by Air Carriers; FAA-Cited Causes of Departure and End route Delays).

Also, Safety (Transportation Fatalities, Injured Persons, and Accidents by Mode; Hazardous Materials Fatalities, Injuries, Accidents, and Property Damage; Transportation-Related Occupational Fatalities; Fatalities by Driver Blood Alcohol Concentration in Crashes; Estimated Number of Lives Saved by Occupant Protection, Motorcycle Helmets, and Drinking Age Law; Transit Safety and Property Damage; Transit Accidents and Incidents; Transit and Grade-Crossing Fatalities, Injuries and Incidents; Violent and Property Crimes and Arrests by Transit Mode; Hazardous Liquid and Natural Gas Pipeline Safety and Property Damage).
