BTS’ National Transportation Statistics Updated

Friday, October 19, 2018- National Transportation Statistics (NTS) – a web-only reference guide to national-level transportation data was updated today. NTS, updated quarterly, includes a wide range of national transportation information.

NTS consists of more than 260 tables of national data of which 56 were updated today. This quarter’s updates are:

  • Transportation System
    • Number of Air Carriers, Railroads, Interstate Motor Carriers, Marine Vessel and Pipeline Operators;
    • Number of Airports, Amtrak and Rail Transit Stations;
    • Oil and Gas Pipeline Mileage;
    • Sales or Deliveries of New Aircraft, Vehicles, Vessels, and Other Conveyances;
    • Automobile and Truck Fleets by Use;
    • Motor Vehicle Production and Factory Sales;
    • Retail New Passenger Car Sales;

    • Personal Consumption Expenditures on Transportation by Subcategory;
    • Average Cost of Owning and Operating an Automobile;
    • Revenue per Passenger-Mile and Freight Revenue per Ton-Mile;

    • Labor Productivity Indices for Selected Transportation Industries;
    • Summary of Transportation Revenues and Expenditures from Own Funds and User Coverage;
