North American Transborder Freight up 15.1% in October 2021 from October 2020, up 9.6% since Pre-Pandemic October 2019

Transborder freight between the U.S. and North American countries (Canada and Mexico) in October 2021:

  • Total transborder freight: $117.4 billion of transborder freight moved by all modes of transportation, up 15.1% compared to October 2020. October 2021 transborder freight was up 9.6% compared to $107.1 billion in October 2019.
  • Freight between the U.S. and Canada totaled $58.6B, up 21.1% from October 2020. Freight between the U.S. and Mexico totaled $58.8B, up 9.6% from October 2020.
  • Trucks moved $73.8 billion of freight, up 8.9% compared to October 2020.
  • Railways moved $16.5 billion of freight, up 13.9% compared to October 2020.
