    The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today released its February 2018 Air Travel Consumer Report on air carrier data compiled for the month of December 2017 and calendar year 2017.  In 2017, the carriers posted a bumping rate of 0.34 per 10,000 passengers, the lowest annual rate based on historical data dating back to 1995.  The previous low was 0.62 in 2016.  These carriers posted a bumping rate of 0.18 per 10,000 passengers for the fourth quarter of 2017, an improvement over the 0.55 rate for the fourth quarter of 2016.

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today released its January 2018 Air Travel Consumer Report on air carrier data compiled for the month of November 2017.  In November, the reporting carriers posted an on-time arrival rate of 88.3 percent, up from both the 86.5 percent on-time rate in November 2016 and the 84.8 percent mark in October 2017, and the second highest rate ever reported.  The highest rate was 88.6 in November 2009.

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today released its December 2017 Air Travel Consumer Report on air carrier data compiled for the month of October 2017.  In October, the reporting carriers posted an on-time arrival rate of 84.8 percent, slightly down from the 85.5 percent on-time rate in October 2016, but up from the 83.6 percent mark in September 2017.

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today released its November 2017 Air Travel Consumer Report on air carrier data compiled for the month of September 2017, third quarter of 2017, and first nine months of 2017.  For the third quarter of 2017, the 12 U.S. carriers who report involuntary denied boarding, or bumping, data posted a bumping rate of 0.15 per 10,000 passengers, the lowest quarterly rate based on historical data dating back to 1995 and down from both the rate of 0.69 for the third quarter of 2016 and the previous lowest quarterly rate of 0.44 posted in the second quarter of 2017.

    WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today released its October 2017 Air Travel Consumer Report on air carrier data compiled for the month of August 2017.  In August, the reporting carriers posted an on-time arrival rate of 77.1 percent, down from the 77.6 percent on-time rate in August 2016, but up from the 76.9 percent mark in July 2017.The reporting carriers canceled 2.2 percent of their scheduled domestic flights, up from both the 1.4 percent cancellation rate posted in August 2016 and the 1.1 percent rate in July 2017.
