  • The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ (BTS) has designated 18 U.S. airlines to report 2018 on-time performance and denied boarding data for domestic flights and 13 U.S. airlines to report 2018 mishandled baggage data for domestic flights.
  • WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today released its July 2017 Air Travel Consumer Report, compiling air carrier data for the month of May 2017.  In May, airlines reported 26 tarmac delays of more than three hours on domestic flights and no tarmac delays of more than four hours on international flights.  Twenty-four of the long tarmac delays took place in Philadelphia on May 25, when there were heavy thundershowers in the area.  All reported extended tarmac delays are being investigated by the Department.
  • The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today released its June 2017 Air Travel Consumer Report, compiling air carrier data for the month of April 2017.  In April, DOT received 1,909 complaints about airline service from consumers, up 70.0 percent from the total of 1,123 filed in April 2016 and up 68.6 percent from the 1,132 received in March 2017.

  • WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation today released its April 2017 Air Travel Consumer Report, compiling air carrier data for the month of February 2017.  The April report contains denied boarding (oversales) data for the October-December 2016 quarter, as airlines report denied boarding numbers by quarter.  Denied boarding numbers for the January-March quarter will be available in the May Air Travel Consumer Report.
