September 2013 Passenger Airline Employment Down 1.6 Percent from September 2012

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 380,165 workers in September 2013, 1.6 percent fewer than in September 2012, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today. September was the 13th consecutive month that full-time equivalent (FTE) employment for U.S. scheduled passenger carriers was below that of the same month of the previous year (Tables 1, 2).

August 2013 Passenger Airline Employment Down 2.2 Percent from August 2012

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 380,564 workers in August 2013, 2.2 percent fewer than in August 2012, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today. August was the 12th consecutive month that full-time equivalent (FTE) employment for U.S. scheduled passenger carriers was below that of the same month of the previous year (Tables 1, 2).

July 2013 Passenger Airline Employment Down 2.6 Percent from July 2012

May 2013 Passenger Airline Employment Down 2.1 Percent from May 2012

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 382,558 workers in May 2013, 2.1 percent fewer than in May 2012, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today. May was the ninth consecutive month that full-time equivalent (FTE) employment for U.S. scheduled passenger carriers was below that of the same month of the previous year (Tables 1, 2).
