August 2017 Passenger Airline Employment Data
U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 3.4 percent more workers in August 2017 than in August 2016, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today. August was the highest monthly full-time equivalent (FTE) employment total (428,399 FTEs) since January 2005 (430,780) and was the 46th consecutive month that U.S. scheduled passenger airlines' FTEs exceeded the same month of the previous year.
