O&D Coupon File (DB1C)

The Origin and Destination Survey Coupon File (DB1C) contains coupon-level data (by direction of travel) including carriers providing service, coupon origin and coupon destination for each itinerary. This file is related to the O&D Segment files by the unique Ticket ID combined with Coupon Sequence Number on each record.

 

An airline ticket coupon is the minimum recorded unit of travel, tracking only a passenger's actual boarding and deplaning points. On a through flight, where the aircraft makes an intermediate stop but the passenger remains onboard, the ticket generates only a single coupon for the initial origin and final destination, completely omitting the intermediate stop from the travel record.
