This bar graph shows the average age of transit vehicles for commuter rail locomotives, heavy rail passenger cars, light rail vehicles (street cars), articulated bus, and ferryboats. Articulated buses were the newest, averaging around 7 years from 2010 to 2023. In 2023, the other types of transit vehicles averaged about 20 to 25 years old.
