Long-Term Trend in Working at Home: 1980-2023

This bar graph shows the number of workers that work from home and the percentage of all workers. The number of workers that were working from home continually increased between 1980 and 2021, reaching a peak of 25 million in 2021 or 18 percent of total workers. The percentage of workers working from home decreased to about 14 percent 2023.
