Notes:

Total, Commercial Vessels includes unclassified vessels. Ports includes coastal, Great Lakes, and inland ports, including those on the inland rivers and waterways primarily serving barges. For reporting purposes, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers tabulates traffic at the docks within the boundary of the port and uses 250,000 short tons as the reporting threshold.
