Schedule Shift for Some BTS Content
In accordance with the rules and regulations outlined in 5 CFR Part 1321 “Fundamental Responsibilities of Recognized Statistical Agencies and Units” (Trust Regulation), the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) is adjusting its published release schedule.
Due to multiple lapses in appropriations and reductions to the workforces of other Federal agencies, some of BTS’ regular data input deliveries have been delayed. As a result, some of BTS’ statistical products have been and will be released at a later date than originally planned.
This notice is in accordance with 5 CFR part 1321, “if the release date of a statistical product is changed after the schedule has been published, publicly announce the change to the schedule as soon as possible,” BTS will continue to update the agency release schedule as changes occur.
Impacted Releases:
- "U.S. Transportation Sector Unemployment, April 2026" will be released on Friday, May 8, 2026 after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) releases the April jobs report. This was originally entered for May 1 in error.
- "Average Air Fares, 4th Quarter 2025" will be released on Friday, April 24, 2026. The originally scheduled release date was Friday, May 15, 2026, but the data processing will be completed earlier than anticipated.
