National Transportation Atlas Database Summer 2020 Update

Friday, July 10, 2020 - The Summer 2020 update to the National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD) was released today with eight updated datasets.

 

NTAD is a Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) compilation of geospatial datasets representing the nation’s transportation infrastructure, containing roadways, railways, waterways, and airports.

Bikeshare Ridership Down 44% During COVID-19

Ridership on eight of the nation’s largest docked bikeshare systems in the COVID-19 months of March through May 2020 declined by 44% compared to the same period in 2019, according to data from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics released today in a new interactive map. San Francisco (Bay Wheels) experienced the largest decline at 60% (Figure 1).

There were 4.5 million trips on the eight bikeshare systems in 2020, down from 8.1 million trips in 2019.

Air Travel Consumer Report: April 2020 Numbers

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation today released its June 2020 Air Travel Consumer Report (ATCR) on reporting marketing and operating air carrier data compiled for the month of April 2020.  The full consumer report and other aviation consumer matters of interest to the public can be found at http://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer.
