Thursday, March 21, 2019 - National Transportation Statistics (NTS) – a web-only reference guide to national-level transportation data was updated today.

January 2019 Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI)

The Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI), which is based on the amount of freight carried by the for-hire transportation industry, rose 0.4 percent in January from December, rising after a one-month decline but increasing for the fifth out of the last six months. For the year from January 2018, the index rose 4.7 percent compared to 5.3 percent for the previous 12-month period (Table 4).
