Motor Fuel Prices – June 2026

Today, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) released monthly motor fuels prices for June 2026. 
In June 2026, the average price for regular motor gasoline was $4.05 per gallon; down 9.6% from May 2026 and up 28.6% from June 2025.

The figure is a line chart showing two lines – one for the price of diesel fuel and one for regular gasoline (all formulations) by month from June 2025 to June 2026. The price for diesel fuel ranges from $3.60 in June 2025 to $5.02 in June 2026. The price for regular gasoline ranges from $3.15 in June 2025 to $4.05 in June 2026.

By region, the average price for regular motor gasoline in June 2026 was and year-over-year change:

  • West Coast: $5.21 (up 25.6%)
  • Central Atlantic: $4.14 (up 32.0%)
  • New England: $4.10 (up 36.7%)
  • Rocky Mountain: $4.04 (up 28.6%)
  • Midwest: $3.86 (up 27.8%)\
  • Lower Atlantic: $3.72 (up 27.5%)
  • Gulf Coast: $3.55 (up 29.0%)

The average price for diesel no. 2 was $5.02 in June 2026, down 10.3% from May 2026, and up 39.6% from June 2025.
