Motor Fuel Prices – March 2026

Today, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) released monthly motor fuels prices for March 2026. 

In March 2026, the average price for regular motor gasoline was $3.64 per gallon; up 25.1% from February 2026 and up 17.5% from March 2025. 

In March 2026, the average price for regular motor gasoline was $3.64 per gallon; up 25.1% from February 2026 and up 17.5% from March 2025. 



By region, the average price for regular motor gasoline in March 2026 was and year-over-year change:

  • West Coast: $4.89 (up 19.0%)
  • Central Atlantic: $3.55 (up 15.1%)
  • Rocky Mountain: $3.48 (up 15.6%)
  • New England: $3.46 (up 17.3%)
  • Lower Atlantic: $3.45 (up 19.2%)
  • Midwest: $3.37 (up 14.1%)
  • Gulf Coast: $3.27 (up 22.0%)

The average price for diesel no. 2 was $4.92 in March 2026, up 32.2% from February 2026, and up 37.3% from March 2025.
