The Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ (BTS) American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) Freight Mobility Initiative (FMI) comprises all experimental statistics and products developed from a database of aggregated, anonymized, non-customer-specific GPS position data (or processed "GPS pings") acquired from ATRI and harvested from a sample of truck tractors that have been moving around North America.
