Estimated June 2019 U.S. Airline Traffic Data

U.S. scheduled airlines carried an estimated 76.8 million systemwide (domestic and international) passengers in June 2019, seasonally-adjusted, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ (BTS) first estimate, up 0.4% from the May second estimate.

 

 

BTS’ June estimate was down 1.1% from the all-time, seasonally-adjusted, reported high of 77.7 million reached in March 2019.

 

BTS estimated 67.2 million domestic passengers and 9.6 million international passengers on U.S. airlines flights in June.

U.S. airlines carried an estimated 75.3 million systemwide (domestic and international) scheduled service passengers in April 2019, seasonally-adjusted, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ (BTS) first estimate, up 0.3% from the March second estimate.

U.S. airlines carried an estimated 74.9 million systemwide (domestic and international) scheduled service passengers in March 2019, seasonally-adjusted, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ (BTS) first estimate, up 0.1% from the February second estimate.

2018 Traffic Data for U.S Airlines and Foreign Airlines U.S. Flights

U.S. airlines and foreign airlines serving the U.S. carried an all-time high of 1.0 billion systemwide (domestic and international) scheduled service passengers in 2018, 4.8 percent more than the previous record high of 965.4 million reached in 2017. The year-over-year systemwide increase resulted from a 4.9 percent rise in the number of passengers on domestic flights (777.9 million passengers in 2018) and 4.4 percent growth in passengers on U.S. and foreign airlines’ flights to and from the U.S. (233.6 million passengers in 2018) (Tables 1, 1A, 5, 9). Systemwide passengers include those on scheduled domestic flights plus those on scheduled flights to and from the United States.
