February 2014 U.S. Airline Traffic Data

The U.S. Department of Transportations Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today that U.S. airlines carried 52.4 million systemwide (domestic + international) scheduled service passengers in February 2014, 0.1 percent fewer than in February 2013. The systemwide total was the result of a 0.5 percent decrease in the number of domestic passengers (45.5 million)

March Airline On-Time Performance Down From Previous Year, Up from February

WASHINGTON – The nation’s largest airlines posted an on-time arrival rate of 77.6 percent in March, down from the 79.8 percent on-time rate posted in March 2013, but up from the 70.7 percent on-time rate posted in February 2014, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Air Travel Consumer Report released today.

The amount of freight carried by the for-hire transportation industry rose 1.6 percent in March from February, rising for the second consecutive month, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics’ (BTS) Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) released today.
