U.S. Cargo and Passenger Airlines Gained 1,513 Jobs in July 2024
U.S. airline industry (passenger and cargo airlines combined) employment increased to 1,004,213 workers in July 2024, 1,513 (0.15%) more workers than in June 2024 (1,002,700). ¬¬¬ U.S. scheduled-service passenger airlines employed 546,083 workers in July 2024, or 55% of the industry-wide total. Passenger airlines lost 363 employees in July 2024. United Air Lines Inc. led scheduled passenger carriers, adding 157 employees; PSA Airlines Inc. added 115, and SkyWest Airlines Inc. added 111.Current Transportation Statistics

Section 7308 of the FAST Act requires DOT to assemble and collect data on rail tank cars transporting Class 3 flammable liquids.
