BTS releases Travel Patterns of Americans with Disabilities

An estimated 18.6 million people reported travel-limiting disabilities in 2022; down by a statistically significant amount from 25.5 million in 2017. In 2022, 40.2 percent of persons age 18 to 64 with travel-limiting disabilities and 57.1 of persons age 65 and over with travel-limiting disabilities stayed at home on the travel day surveyed compared to 34.1 and 44.7 percent, respectively, in 2017.
