May 2017 Passenger Airline Employment Data

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 3.6 percent more workers in May 2017 than in May 2016, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today. May was the highest monthly full-time equivalent (FTE) total (425,251) since July 2005 (428,091) and was the 43nd consecutive month that U.S. scheduled passenger airline FTEs exceeded the same month of the previous year.

April 2017 Passenger Airline Employment Data

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 3.9 percent more workers in April 2017 than in April 2016, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today. April was the highest monthly full-time equivalent (FTE) total (423,537) since July 2005 (428,091) and was the 42nd consecutive month that U.S. scheduled passenger airline FTEs exceeded the same month of the previous year.

March 2017 Passenger Airline Employment Data

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 4.0 percent more workers in March 2017 than in March 2016, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today. March was the highest monthly full-time equivalent (FTE) total (422,278) since July 2005 (428,091) and was the 41st consecutive month that U.S. scheduled passenger airline FTEs exceeded the same month of the previous year (Tables 1, 2, 3).

February 2017 Passenger Airline Employment Data

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 4.2 percent more workers in February 2017 than in February 2016, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today. February was the highest monthly total (420,824) since July 2005 (428,091) and was the 40th consecutive month that U.S. scheduled passenger airline full-time equivalent (FTE) employment exceeded the same month of the previous year (Tables 1, 2, 3).

January 2017 Passenger Airline Employment Data

U.S. scheduled passenger airlines employed 3.9 percent more workers in January 2017 than in January 2016, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today. January was the highest monthly FTE total (417,833) since November 2007 (419,313) and was the 39th consecutive month that U.S. scheduled passenger airline full-time equivalent (FTE) employment exceeded the same month of the previous year (Tables 1, 2, 3).
