3rd-Quarter 2011 Domestic Air Fares Rose 6.2% from 3rd Quarter 2010

Thursday, January 26, 2012 - Average domestic air fares rose to $361 in the third quarter of 2011, up 6.2 percent from the average fare of $340 in the third quarter of 2010 (Table 1), the U.S. Department of Transportations Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported today. Cincinnati had the highest average fare, $488, while Atlantic City, NJ, had the lowest, $167 (Table 3).

Friday, January 27, 2012 - The Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) today released State Transportation Facts and Figures, an interactive web transportation mapping application that allows customers to find state-by-state transportation data, comparisons and rankings as well as gives them the ability to download state transportation information. State Transportation Facts and Figures contains data and statistics related to each state's transportation infrastructure, transportation safety, freight movements and passenger travel, vehicle characteristics, economy and transportation finance, and transportation energy usage and the environment.

Freight Shipments Rose 3.9% in December from November PDF

Wednesday, February 8, 2012 - The amount of freight carried by the for-hire transportation industry rose 3.9 percent in December from November, the largest monthly rise in 17 years, which brought the level of freight shipments to an all-time high, according to the U.S. Department of Transportations Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) released today (Table 1).
