Passengers Denied Confirmed Space Report

Monday, April 15, 2024

NOTE: Effective 2018 and forward, BTS will report Denied Boardings in two categories:

  • Marketing carriers - the marketing networks that include domestic flights and international flights originating in the U.S. that are marketed by mainline carriers and operated by the mainline carrier or the mainline carriers’ regional codeshare affiliates.

  • Reporting carriers - airlines required to report denied boardings numbers for domestic flights and international flights that originate in the U.S. because they meet the revenue threshold. Beginning in 2018, the revenue requirement was at least one-half of 1 percent of the total scheduled-service domestic passenger revenue.

Current reporting method, effective 2018 and forward

  • Marketing carriers
  • Operating carriers
